1. 2012 Box registration now OPEN! Online registration for the
2012 box lacrosse season with VKMLA is now open. Please click on the "Register Now!" link on the right. Early bird rates end Feb. 15th!

2. BRING A FRIEND TO LACROSSE DAYS - VKMLA will be holding three Saturday afternoon sessions in
February and all will be held at Douglas Park Community Centre (Willow St. and 22nd) 3:30 to 4:30. Feb. 11 is for mini-tyke (ages 5/6) and Tyke (ages
7/8); Feb. 18th for Novice (8/9), Pee Wee (10/11), and Bantam (12/13); Feb. 25th - New Players and those who missed prior sessions. We could use some
assistance on the floor chasing down balls and standing on the stage answering any question from the new parents - please contact Michael O'Connor to sign up
and help out. This is a simple way to do your volunteer time for the Association.
3. OPEN ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS The VKMLA is in need of a Registrar, Arena floor scheduler,
Information Coordinator aka Website administrator, Bingo Coordinator (needed as of May 2012 - training available). The positions are done by e-mail - no
meetings to attend. The most immediate is the Referee postion.

VKMLA
The Vancouver-Killarney Minor Lacrosse Association (VKMLA) is the governing body responsible for administering Canada's National Summer Sport for youth aged five to sixteen throughout Vancouver. It is a small association with just over 200 players both in box and field lacrosse. The VKMLA is committed to enhance the growth and development of the sport of lacrosse,
and the Association provides guidance, direction, and stability to its members through strong, proactive, and ethical leadership. Our mission is to: (i) develop the game of lacrosse in Vancouver in a sustainable manner while preserving the heritage and integrity of the sport, and (ii) promote and practice the Fair Play Codes throughout the Association for players, coaches, referees, volunteers, and spectators. The VKMLA oversees youth box lacrosse (March - July), youth field lacrosse (August - March), and female-only box lacrosse.
Vancouver Senior Lacrosse (VSL) is the governing body responsible for administering lacrosse in the Intermediate (under 18), Junior (under 21), and Senior (no age limit) box lacrosse leagues. VSL also oversees Men's Field Lacrosse and Women's Box Lacrosse in Vancouver. Please contact Shawn Joinson or Terry Kirstiuk for more information.
